Producing a single pair of jeans can consume over 5000 liters of water, equivalent to five years of drinking water for one person [1]. Natural fibers like cotton require massive water inputs for growth and even more for washing and dye water processes [2]. Synthetic materials such as nylon, polyester, and acrylic contribute significantly to microplastic pollution, with over one third of microplastics in waterways originating from textiles and 85% of clothing ultimately ending up in landfills [3], [4]. Washing and dye water operations are a major source of environmental contamination and pollution, often in underdeveloped regions [4], [5]. Access to reliable clean water is critical to reducing environmental impacts and ensuring sustainable apparel production [6], [7].

Sustainable Water Reuse in Apparel Manufacturing Facilities

ClearE8 systems apply Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) technology to break down complex organic chemicals and dyes, improving water clarity, color, taste, and odor. By treating dye water and other process water streams, facilities can maintain efficient operations, protect ecosystems, and reduce the environmental footprint of apparel manufacturing.
